Jeff Pedowitz, CEO of The Pedowitz Group, interviews George Bailey, co-founder and host of Choose the Nickel. They discuss the origins of the Choose the Nickel podcast, the marketing strategy that George is using to reach people, and the importance of prioritization when it comes to a startup.


About George Bailey

George Bailey is an estate planner, life insurance agent, and is the host and co-founder of the podcast Choose the Nickel. In all of these roles, he is helping families prepare the next generation for success, whether through inheritance or by helping parents find creative ways to teach their children about money and business. George is also the CMO for Vanguard International Advisory Group, a consultancy that is working to draw attention to and improve Saint Louis’ robust transportation sector. He has previous work experience in securities and project management. 

George obtained his JD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he worked in the school’s intellectual property and nonprofit organization clinic. Upon graduation, he received the Dean’s Service Award for his extensive pro bono service in the Saint Louis community. He also belongs to the Order of Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing skills.  

Prior to attending law school, George was a language instructor for nine years and has taught courses in Mandarin Chinese, Danish, and English. In his final year of instruction, he received the Wolfgang Mittermeier Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching from Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen in Germany, where he instructed for three years. George attended Brigham Young University, where he obtained a BA in Mandarin Chinese and an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. 

George is involved in the St. Louis community through his church and his advisory role with Money Smarts School of Finance for Children. He is married and has four children. George is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, German, and Danish.
